Sudbury Pottery Class
Welcome to Rachael Ped's Studio
Enjoy a fun and lively pottery class (max 10 people) taught by
local potter and ceramic artist, Rachael Ped,
in her bright and welcoming (and warm in the winter!!) studio.
Suitable for adults/older teenagers, you will be taught how to hand-build with clay (slab, coil and pinching) and how to throw on a potter's wheel, plus decoration techniques and glazing.
The studio is well equipped, with tools, tables for hand building, a wheel for throwing, and a large kiln which is fired every 4 weeks.
Complete beginners are welcome, as are those who are advanced.
About Rachael Ped
Rachael is a kind and patient teacher. She favours a relaxed approach to teaching, allowing students to express themselves and feel free in their creativity.
Her own pottery journey began in Ongar 2003 at the age of 16, and she later went on to gain City & Guilds qualifications in Ceramics and 3D designs.
Rachael has a fun and playful approach to working with clay, enjoying large sculptures and whimsical creations, taking much inspiration from her time spent in Africa.
Making everything in her bright and airy studio in Sudbury, Suffolk, with her trusty furry friend 'Bluebell' as a studio companion, she sells her work to galleries and craft shops/fairs all over Suffolk and Essex, and some of her work has even been sold to enthusiasts in France, Cyprus and New Zealand!
